To make motichoor ladoos, tiny balls of chickpea flour (boondi) are deep-fried until they turn golden and crisp. These boondis are then mixed with a flavorful sugar syrup and shaped into neat round balls.

Ingredients for Ladoo Cheesecake

Biscuits – You can use any biscuits of your choice. I used a tea biscuit called Parle-G. Good old graham crackers are totally fine.

Butter – Regular or vegan butter both work.

Cream cheese – Use full-fat cream cheese both regular and vegan kind work.

Heavy whipping cream – Heavy cream helps make the cheesecake deliciously fluffy.

Sugar – Use powdered sugar for best results.

Edible Silver leaf or Vark – COmpletely optional and only for aesthetic purposes. It’s available on Amazon.

Cardamom powder – Cardamom adds a sweet and woody flavor to the dessert.

Chopped nuts – You can add almonds, pistachio, cashew, or any other nuts of your choice.

Steps to Make Ladoo Cheesecake

Prepare the Cheesecake Base:

  1. Powder the Biscuits: Take the biscuits and grind them into a fine powder.

  1. Create the Base Layer: Take a pudding jar and place a portion of the biscuit base into the bottom. Press it gently but firmly with your fingers to create a compact layer.
  2. Add Smashed Ladoos: Fill the second layer with two tablespoons of smashed ladoos, spreading them evenly over the biscuit base.
  3. Spoon the Cheese-Cream Layer: Pour a layer of the cream cheese mixture over the ladoo layer, making sure to cover them completely.
  4. Add Remaining Smashed Ladoos: For the final layer, fill the top with the remaining portion of the smashed ladoos, distributing them evenly.

  •  9 Motichoor Ladoos – You can buy motichoor laddoos from any Indian grocery store
  • 12 pieces Parle G biscuits or 6 slabs of graham crackers
  • 2 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 cup softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoons chopped mixed nuts (almonds, pistachio & cashew)
  • 1 leaf Silver leaf (Vark)-optional

Instructions

  1. Grind the biscuits or graham crackers to a powder, add melted butter, and using your hands mix so it’s like sand consistency.
  2. Add cardamom and combine well.
  3. Whisk the softened cream cheese for 4-5 minutes in a bowl and then add the heavy whipping cream and whip till the mixture is fluffy using an electric hand blender.
  4. Smash the ladoos gently on a plate a keep them aside.
  5. Now you’re ready to assemble the ladoo cheesecake.
  6. In a pudding jar make the first layer with 3 teaspoons of the biscuit mixture.
  7. Press gently down.
  8. Add some of the smashed motichoor ladoos as the next layer.
  9. Next, add the cream cheese layer.
  10. You can add another layer of ladoo if you have room.
  11. Garnish with chopped nuts and silver leaf if available.
  12. Enjoy!
