  • 2 potatoes – boiled, skinned, and diced into  cubes
  • 1/4 onion – medium, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cucumber – finely chopped
  • 1 firm tomato– medium,  chopped
  • 1/2 cup dried kala chana (black dried chickpeas) – boiled
  • 1 cup dried vatana – boiled
  • ½ cup sev ( fried chickpea noodles)
  • 4 cup fresh coriander leaves – finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies – finely chopped ( completely optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 4 tablespoons tamarind chutney
  • ½ teaspoon black salt
  • 1 teaspoon roasted spices


  1. Take a bowl add the boiled, diced potatoes, and to it add the chopped onions, tomatoes, cucumber, boiled kala chana, boiled white peas( matar), green chilies, salt, roasted masala, lime juice and tamarind chutney.
  2. Toss all the ingredients very well so that the tamarind chutney coats everything.
  3. Serve it in individual bowls, garnished with fresh coriander and sev.
  4. Enjoy.

  1. Take 2 tablespoon cumin seeds, 2 tablespoon coriander seeds and 4 dried red chilies.
  2. Roast all ingredients in a dry pan, cool and grind into a powder.
